Why should you work with Witter Construction Inc?
1) High quality, down to the framework. We have a policy to build the highest quality decks around. Most other companies use 4 by 4 treated posts in the sub-frame to save money, but we use a minimum of a 4 by 6 post unless otherwise required by city or association. Our deck support beams are a minimum of 2 by 8, where other companies go as small as 2 by 6. These among many other extra small steps we take may cost us a little more now, but it’s for that reason that the decks we build last the longest.
2) We stand by our worksmanship. When it comes to hiring someone you don’t know to do some work for you, everything comes down to trust. We know that we haven’t earned your trust until the job is done, and beyond your satisfaction. It’s for this reason that we offer a 5 year workmanship warranty. We believe showing you that we are willing to back our workmanship for 5 years starts to build the trust that we know you’ll find our company is worthy of.
3) It’s a small company. You will deal with the same person throughout the construction of your deck to eliminate confusion and miscommunication. We may be small, but we carry the same licenses and insurance as any of the bigger companies.
4) Pricing is all inclusive. When we give you a price, it includes EVERYTHING. For new decks it includes permits, labor and materials, as well as an underlayment of plastic and stone. Re-decks don’t require permits or underlayment but their pricing does include labor, materials and removal of the old material. It is our job to be aware of any costs that may arise during the construction process so we won’t surprise you with additional charges after a contract is signed. The only way your price will go up is if you request a change that costs more.
5) Happy customers! We have an extensive list of overly satisfied customers who are jumping at the opportunity to boast about how well their business with Witter Construction went. We have found that, at the price of just a quick phone call, most of our customers are happy to let you inspect their deck and answer any questions you may have.
6) Greener each year. After 13 long years of shamefully sending decking scraps to the landfill, we’re putting those “useless” cutoffs to good use. We have been designing & building a variety of items from Bird Houses and Planter boxes, to six pack holders and centerpieces. We are continually looking to minimize our company’s carbon footprint and hope to see that influence others in our field. Timbertech , our composite & pvc deck board manufacturer, is a great example of a big company doing their part. Up to 100% of their capped composite deck boards and 54% of their capped polymer boards are recycled material, the scraps from their board making process get repurposed back into production, and they deliberately source hard-to-recycle materials that would traditionally end up in landfills. 100% of Witter Construction Inc’s PVC scraps from building your decks get recycled through a Timbertech recycling program. We divert 290-ish million lbs of waste and scrap materials from landfills annually (hopefully soon, Witter Construction Inc won’t just be the “ish”, but a bigger contributor in the diversion to a greener cause)
How can i get my hands on upcycled birdhouses & other custom pieces?
**We have been workin’ like crazy on our decks this year, so this has been put on the back burner. over winter is when we will have a little more time.

We’re trying to be pretty relaxed about this so we will post in our Etsy shop, etsy.com/shop/witterreconstruction (link located w/other social buttons in the header) as they are built. Don’t see the item your heart desires? Let us know what you want, we’re happy to do custom items. As far as colors go, wood we can do any color combination you want. The PVC stuff comes in the manufacturers natural colors (TimbertechAzek line). If you live within 5 miles of Troy, MI we will gladly deliver your item free of charge!
